From the shadows comes a new Group

This week over twenty like minded people, interested in technical theatre got together and officially formed a new group called wedoitinthedark.com.

The idea had been around for sometime, but only recently developed into and official group, with affiliation to the Scunthorpe Drama Federation. The aim of the group is to assist the local amateur dramatic groups and any other relevant organisations with theatrical technical support and crew, to increase the profile of technical theatrical roles in the local community, to develop the skills of the membership in theatrical technical craft and to promote technical theatrical work and roles to young people through the forging of links with local educational establishments.

The group is open to anyone who share's a keen interest in all things backstage at the theatre. You also need to be aged 16 and over and living in the North Lincolnshire area, please register your interest on our Facebook page.

Remarking on the day the chairman, Alan Bomberg said "It is a fantastic turn out, we never expected so many people to share a common interest in the technical side of the theatre"
